Fashion Friday #2

Here it is, my second Fashion Friday!

Crop Top - Miss Selfridge black bralette top
Pants - Topshop jeans
Blazer - MANGO 3 4 sleeve white blazer
Shoes - Prada high heel sandals
Hat - Monki black floppy hat

Recently I've been seeing a lot of black on black outfits, so I decided to create my own.

Crop tops have been an item of the summer no matter if you wear it with a skirt, high waisted shorts or low rise jeans, so I matched the black crop top with a pair of high waisted black skinny jeans. I paired the outfit with a white blazer to add a colour contrast to it.

I personally don't like wearing heels all that much, but I decided on strappy heels for this outfit because in the summer, you don't want your feet trapped in shoes (let alone heels) all day, so strappy heels seemed like a good alternative which still allows your feet to breath while it dresses up the outfit.

I love hats in the summer because not only are they a great accessory, but it's great protection from the sun which is always a good thing to have. 

Red is known to be a bold colour when it comes to lipstick and/or nail polish, and that's exactly why I chose red for the lipstick and nail polish.

I find that the look is already confident and flirty on it's own, so I thought that I should go all the way and add the red to make the look be confident, flirty and bold.

Fashion Friday #1

I decided to start little segments on my blog in hopes of it having me post more often, and today shall be the debut of my first segment: Fashion Friday.

As I mentioned before on previous post Surfing (The Web For Sites That I Love), I'm absolutely loving the website Polyvore.

It's a website where you can create outfits, room designs, colour palettes for makeup and more. 

I love the website, I use it mainly for fashion myself, but I've been spending a lot of time on it.

Seeing how much time I've been spending on their and how many I've been creating, I thought that'd I'd share one with you guys every week or two weeks (depending how everything goes), therefore creating Fashion Friday!

The first outfit I want to share with you guys, I'm pretty sure it was the first set I created under my username, claireelizabeta, on Polyvore. 

I've only created my account 10 days ago, but I already have about 20+ sets made and I have to say that my first one is still one of my top favourites.

Finally, here's the outfit:

Dress - Tommy Hilfiger floral summer dress
Sandals - Monsoon ankle strap sandals
Earrings - Kendra Scott mother of pearl earrings
Bracelets - Liz Claiborne bangle set

White dresses are one of the trends for this summer, so I decided to stick with that.

I love the light pink accent colour. Light pink is a colour that I don't wear all that often myself, but I love it with this dress because it keeps it light and fun

I chose gold accessories simply because I prefer gold accessories over silver ones.

The colours go so well together (then again, what doesn't go with white?), and I love how the look basically says summer when you look at it.

It's one that I would definitely buy in a heartbeat and I would give the light pink a go! 

The only thing I could wish about this outfit is to have the money to buy it.

Surfing (The Web For Websites That I Love)

I love both types of surfing. The one outside, in the water with a board, yet I also don't mind the one where I can sit down with my laptop and go from website to website.

I recently got into Pinterest and I'm loving it, lots of makeup and hair tutorials that are rather easy to follow. Clearly, I also love finding blogs to read, Tumblr is something that I'm often on and I enjoy watching YouTube videos when I'm bored or can't sleep.

It's safe to say that I do spend a lot of time online, however I do know when to disconnect so I feel as though it's alright.

One of my favourite websites at the moment is Polyvore. 

Polyvore is this website where you can go on to create your perfect look, whether you use it for fashion or home decor, you can make your dream creation.

I'm one of those people who will go out shopping, not knowing at all what they want to buy, but end up wanting everything they try on. It's a horrible habit because you might end up splurging on items you don't even need.

I'm really loving Polyvore because I can create these outfits and physically see them and decide if I actually like them or not, so when I go out shopping I can look for items that are similar to the ones in the set that I've created. 

It's such a great website to use because in the end, you save both time and money when you're out shopping.

I started my account awhile back, about two years ago, but I actually forgot about it until recently. I forgot how fun I found it to create outfits like that, so hopefully I'll keep doing it for a little while longer. If you want, you can check out my account HERE. 

I know I haven't mastered how to use the website or anything yet, but I still love using it.
