I'm Back Home!

This post is much later than I would've liked it to be, but I have been drowning in schoolwork and projects, so I had to get those out of the way first.

Besides all of that, I'm back home! I can't say that I got homesick on the trip, but there comes a point that when you're in the hotel room getting ready for bed, you wish you were sleeping in your own bed.

But, yes! I'm back home in Canada and I'm not sure how I feel about that.

Jamaica was absolutely beautiful. The resort and staff were amazing, so were some of the other guests (can't say that for all of them however), and the sunsets were just stunning. It's crazy to think though that not even two weeks ago, I was laying on the beach in 30+ heat (Celsius) and now I'm home with over six feet of snow and ice.

I honestly don't think that it's going to be melted until the end of May.

Sadly though, we know that all good things must come to an end, and Jamaica was a great thing for me.

It's nice to be home and with what I know, don't get me wrong, I just wish that I was still on the beach.

I was able to get a few pictures with my good camera while I was there and I want to share them, so here they are!

This first one is one of my favourites because I was able to get the photo of the flag in the shape of a heart at the exact right moment and I love it so much. It's difficult to get a good picture of something moving, much less something being shaped by the wind, so what are the chances of that happening?

This is a picture of the sunset from the world famous Rick's Cafe. I could sit there and watch the sun set forever. It was so beautiful there. It would be the perfect place to escape to when you have too much on your mind.

Here's another sunset picture, yet this one is from my resort, on the beach. It was probably one of the beaches I've ever seen.

A picture of the beach I stayed at for the majority of my trip in the daytime.

Finally, we have one more sunset/beach picture. I'm not sure what I love about this so much, whether it's the colour of the sunset, or the beam of light reflecting on the water, or the chairs off to the side, but something about this picture is just so calming. Everytime I look at it, I just think "Hey, everything is going to be okay."

Sadly, I wasn't able to get that many photos with my good camera because I didn't want to risk getting sand and potentially ruining my camera, so I only had it on me for a small minority of the trip. I did have my underwater camera though, but I forgot what awful pictures it takes compared to my good camera.

I know that these probably aren't the greatest pictures that you've ever seen, but I'm not a professional and I know that! I'm just having fun with my camera and capturing things that I like in a frame.

Until next time!

Final Countdown: Jamaica!

Something I'm really excited about is that in a few more days, I'm going to be in Jamaica!

I've never been there before, but I have been lucky enough to travel to Cuba and Barbados. I loved both of those trips, so I can only hope that I'll also love this one!

If I'm being honest, I'm not all that sure as to what I'll have the chance to do in Jamaica, I'm not aware as to what's planned, where we're going to go, what we're going to do, but I find that sometimes it can add a whole lot more amazement to a trip.

As you can see, I've already started to pack a bit! I'm a terrible procrastinator that usually waits the day before we leave to pack, so my parents made sure that I got a head start. So far it's only some dresses, shorts, swimsuits and sandals, but I can't wait to escape the snow for a little bit!

I hope that I'll be able to take loads of pictures while I'm there and posts some of them on here.

Until next time!

My Dream Destinations

As you can see, there's a page on my blog titled "World Travels" and the reason for that is because one of my dreams is to travel the world.

I'm so lucky to have been to amazing places in the past, such as Florida, Cuba, Barbados, Boston, and possibly others that I'm forgetting, but there are so many different places I want to go.

Today I want to share some of my dream places to go and a small reason as to why. If you also want to visit a place that I list off (in no particular order) and have a different reason, or you want to travel to a place that I didn't name and you want to share, feel free to leave a comment! I'll be glad to read about it!

1) England
I'd love to go there because of the culture and history. It would be amazing to see all of the old villages

2) Scotland
Celtic music is something that I don't mind listening to. I find the fiddles and bagpipes to have a nice melody together. You can't forget the fact that there's so much green land! It's beautiful if you ask me.

3) Ireland
As for Scotland, I also have family roots (that are stronger than the ones from Scotland) from Ireland. There are so many castles and each one holds an original story.

4) Greece
I read the Percy Jackson book series in elementary school and fell in love with Greek mythology. I love anything to do with history, so I was in a trace with all of the myths and legends. Since then, I've read so many books focused on Greek mythology and I'd love to see the temples and the Parthenon for myself. It's surrounded by water, has older and modern buildings, it's a beautiful scenery at night. Why wouldn't I want to go there?

5) Australia
The land of adventure. The place where everything that touches the ground could potentially kill you. It might sound awful, but I think it sounds amazing. I know that Australia is the continent itself, yet I still wonder where the best place to visit is. Although, the Sydney Opera House is such a landmark and I couldn't imagine not seeing it
.

6) Vancouver
Even though I live in Canada, I live far from Vancouver, but I think it would be an amazing place to see. My cousin lived there for a numerous amount of years, and she loved it out there. From pictures that I got, the beaches look amazing, and so does the town.

7) Africa
Certain countries in Africa are known to be poor countries where many kids (especially girls) don't get an education and don't get enough food. I think it would be amazing to go there and help out any way possible, whether that's to build a school or bring food and clean water, anything that could help them, I think that would be an unforgettable experience.

Although these aren't the only places that I can only dream to visit at the moment, they happened to be at the top of my head when I started to write this post and when I made a mental list as to where I do want to travel to.

Truth is, I want to go everywhere. I want to see the world and experience different cultures. I really hope that I do have the chance to do that someday.

Hopefully I can use this as a travel bucketlist. These are definitely places I want to go to before I die. I know we can't plan when that happens, but I'll just hope that I get to travel to these amazing looking places.

Until next time!
